How It All Works:   2021-2022 School-Year

Choosing an Instrument
All students will see and hear each band instrument in a demonstration assembly on Tuesday, August 24th. Over the next several days, each student will meet with Mr. Meyer individually and have the opportunity to talk with him about a few instruments of their choice!  A letter will then be emailed home with the recommended instrument choice for your son or daughter.

Registration
Registration will take place on Thursday, September 9th from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Lisle Elementary Cafeteria. This is where you can officially sign your child up for band.  You will be able to acquire instruments and supplies from our music dealer, Quinlan & Fabish.  A sign-up form will be emailed out for you to choose a convenient time to attend during these hours.  The band teachers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Band Lessons
Each student will be placed in a small group with other students who play their same instrument.  Each group will meet once per week during the school day for 30 minutes beginning the week of September 13th.  Lessons will occur outside at the start of the school year to align with COVID safety protocols.  Each group’s lesson will typically be the same day of the week, but lesson times will rotate from week to week so students will not have to miss the same portion of class every lesson.  Students will receive monthly schedules with their lesson times, and the lesson schedule can also be found here.

After-School Band Rehearsals
We hope to be able to have After-School Band Rehearsals with all students together.  Traditionally they occur on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm.  More information will be communicated with students and parents once plans are finalized for this year's rehearsal schedule.

Any more questions? Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page or send Mr. Meyer an e-mail.
