December Info 1.This is a reminder that Concert Band and SymphonicBand recordings for the 2nd Quarter playing test are due this FRIDAY, Dec. 1. This applies to ALL Concert Band members and Symphonic Band members. Students have been reminded numerous times in class and some have already played “live” for me or have already recorded or submitted their recordings. Attached are the assignments that I sent out and even gave a hard copy to all of the students BEFORE Thanksgiving Break. Reminder, students should record at home, double-check the recording quality. This is worth a rather large percentage of their 1st Semester grade, so please encourage (nag) if you need to. 2.Monday, Dec. 4: We have a required rehearsal this coming Monday evening. Please be sure students arrive on time. If we move along efficiently, I hope to be done with Symphonic Band by 9:00. The schedule is attached. .
3.Wednesday, Dec. 6:Students should report to Band Room no later than 6:20 PM dressed in formal wear. (unless they are coming from a practice or game) The concert will begin at 7:00 PM. The choirs will begin, followed by the bands. The concert will conclude with a combined band and choir piece. Please remember, stop at the table in the auditorium foyer to sign-up for Cabaret volunteer positions! 4.FANNIE MAY: Items on your orders should be delivered to your home address next week. Once the box arrive, please double check for accuracy. If you have any questions, please contact band parent, Amy Jachim. Thanks for chairing this fund raiser Mrs. Jachim! 5.All Band and Percussion students will take a written final exam for the 1st Semester on Wednesday the 20th or Thursday the 21st. All students will receive a study guide this week. We will also go over the terms in class. The study guide is attached as an additional resource. The exam is multiple choice and true and false format. HOWEVER, please know that it is worth 20% of their entire first semester band grade.
6.Pep Band - All band students have received a Pep Band schedule. The schedule is attached. For each game, students should be in the band room with instrument by 6:10. Students have been asked to wear jeans and black band t-shirt. We play for pre-game only. I then dismiss the students to enjoy the rest of the evening. We are usually done by 7:00 PM.
7.CALENDAR & DATES. Please open the attached updated band calendar and print yourself a copy if needed. Several of our dates have been rescheduled and /or added. They are mainly the ones that I have underlined. Students received a hard copy in class yesterday.
